Into the wild: a four days adventure deep in the jungle

Get ready to make an unforgettable four days jungle trekking that takes you deep into the heart of the rainforest. Guided by our experienced certified guide, you’ll have the chance to see an incredible variety of wildlife, including orangutans, gibbons, thomas leaf monkeys, hornbills and if you’re luckily, the Sumatran elephants, rhinos or tigers.

The highlight of this adventure is observing orangutans in their natural habitat. Watch as they swing through the trees, play and go about their daily lives. Your guide will share fascinating insights into these amazing animals. It will be an experience you will never forget! Make sure that you’ll photograph the orangutan and other wildlife in the rainforest and make memories for a lifetime.

The program

Day one: Your journey begins at 9 AM when your expert guide picks up from your guesthouse in Bukit Lawang. After a beautiful walk through local gardens and a rubber plantation, you’ll enter Gunung Leuser National Park. The first day takes surround six hours of trekking, with breaks to enjoy the amazing views and fresh tropical fruits. Midday, you’ll stop for lunch at a panoramic view before continuing to your campsite by the river. As night falls, enjoy a cooked Indonesian dinner and relax under the stars in a comfortable bamboo tent.

Day two: After breakfast, trek deeper into the rainforest for five hours, explore the rainforest and create the chance to see more of the wildlife. Enjoy a delicious jungle lunch on a hilltop before reaching your next campsite by the Landak river. Spend the evening dining with traditional Indonesian food and sharing stories at the campsite.

Day three: On the third day, trek for five hours walk from the Landak river to the Bohorok river. The afternoon is free for swimming and relaxing as your guide prepare a fresh dinner. Spend your final night at this peaceful riverside camp and enjoy the sound of the amazing rainforest.

Day four: Wake up with the sounds of the jungle and enjoying the nature, while the guide preparing the breakfast next to the river. After breakfast, choose between a two hour trek or river swimming. You’ll have a jungle lunch and return to Bukit Lawang by the rafting or we called ‘jungle taxi’. The jungle taxi will drop you off to your guesthouse.
