About us

The best place for unforgettable jungle adventures!

At Orangutan Trip Sumatra, we believe in ethical trekking. Our tours are designed to protect the environment and respect the local community. We take small groups to minimize our impact, ensuring that you can experience the jungle in a way that helps preserve it for future generations. You’ll get to see playful orangutans in their natural habitat while learning about the importance of conservation.

We also want to support our local community. Anouk volunteered at a nearby primary school and saw how much help the children needed. With support from friends and family, we raised funds to improve their school. Now, when you book a tour with us, 5% of your payment goes to protecting nature and supporting local schools. Together, we can make a positive change!

How it al started

My name is Kedito, founder of Orangutan Trip Sumatra. I was born and raised in Bukit Lawang, a small village on the edge of the jungle in Sumatra. Growing up in the jungle has been a huge part of my life. My father has worked at the Orangutan Rehabilitation Center in Bukit Lawang since 1980 and from a young age, I learned a lot about the jungle from him. My brother Wolly also helped me to understand the ways of the forest. Together, they taught me about the wildlife, the plants and how to survive in the jungle.

In 2015, I started working as a guide, sharing my knowledge of the jungle with visitors. I’ve spent many years learning about the rainforest, the animals and the survival skills needed to survive in the wild. I’ve even done a jungle trek that lasted 14 days, which was an incredible experience.

I’m excited to share my stories and experiences with people who visit Bukit Lawang. That’s why I created Orangutan Trip Sumatra together with my girlfriend Anouk. We want to show people the beauty of the jungle and teach them how important it is for the earth. Through our trips, we educate visitors about the jungle, its creatures and why it’s so important to protect it.

We invite you to come and explore the amazing rainforest of Sumatra with us and experience the wonders of the jungle!
